How to Recover WRT 610 N V2 _ DDWRT

I uploaded wrong DDWRT firm ware instead of the one suggested in the web site in to the WRT 610 N V2 the router got bricked. Only thing I can do is the re uploading the correct firm ware. But the router is not responding.

when I try to ping the router it won’t ping. When I restarted it will give two or three ping replay again i wont get any response from router.
So I was searching for the recovery methods there are lot of suggestion all of them are failed.

  • TFTP update failed.
  • Resetting router accessing in 2 or 2.5 seconds failed.
  • 30-30-30 reset failed.
  • Serial access method, I don’t have b com cable I am not ready to build one, Buying not a option for me.
The only option I left to upload correct firmware is shorting pins of flash.

To do this Power of the router First, remove all the cables, un screw the router (U need to use special screw driver to open 4 screws under the bottom I don’t have one so find a way to unscrew it )and remove the cover its is tricky to open the router cover you have to chisel a bit to open the cover.

Then I find the Flash chip in my router its marked in red as show below. and count 8 and 9 pins  shown below, using some copper cable. I used copper cable inside the Ethernet cable to short the 8 and 9 pins. Then power on the router and wait for 5 seconds. Now connect the Ethernet cable to the any of LAN port and access 192.168.1.1 you will be re directed to the firm ware upload page now you upload the correct DDWRT or Original Linksys firmware suitable for the router.
